La Push, Washington is a magic coastal area and is a WA State Park. It was one of the first spots I visited when I was young with my parents in the '80s. I so much loved WA that I moved there in the '90s and when to school. Of course, I visited La Push several times with friends while residing there.
La Push is home to vast wildlife. From coastal tide pools to wooded areas you can't go far without bumping into a discovery.
I sure miss this relic of a natural sanctuary, and can't wait to get there to visit again!
This watercolor is painted on an 8x10 canvas. It is pictured without the final high gloss resin coating on it.
It is incredibly hard for me to convey the depth of colors and behavior of paint used in my word. I could take a dozen pictures for you and it would look different almost every time. I use a Daniel Smith brand of watercolor and use a pearlescent and chromatic paint from the same brand. The result is a painting that truly comes to life under different types of light throughout the day. Different types of indoor lighting also affect the look and behavior of the painting. I use a resin finish upon completion to bind and protect the watercolor to all my unorthodox surfaces. This assures longevity and is not like any watercolor painting you will have ever seen.
