Why did the moose cross the river?
To get lost.......
In this massive winter scene within the heart of Montana.
This original was painted with Daniel Smith Watercolors on a 300lb Rag Watercolor paper. I put the paint down thick on this piece utilizing the airbrush to layer the blues within the snow and river. Keeping my pallett short to emphasize contrast I was able to capture the size of the river to the scale of the tree against the moose. Moose are huge animals giving you a scope of just how enchanting this body of water is. I used a lot of white in this piece in layering the snow, adding depth in combination with the gradients of blue.
