The Wanderer
Here is the latest bear painting I have done, it is very rich in colors and organic brush strokes. I was inspired by the profile and portrait expression of this beast. I really enjoy painting these characters of our beautiful state, but am glad that I'm able to keep my distance and them away from my picnic baskets!

"The Wanderer" was created at the end of 2020 and kind of represents us as people and what we were all were going thru. Bears often wander their territory or home areas but bears, in general, have no set boundaries. We as people redefined "boundaries" in 2020, some of us went one way and others in the opposite. I see a lot of the bear in my creative process, that of like the athlete or performer. I get concepts, hibernate and dream about them. Forage for parts and pieces as I execute to arrive at a solid finished piece of work. Then it's time for downtime, rest, and dreams for new ideas.
This original measures in at 12 x12 inches and is painted on 1/8" panel canvas. It is primed to accept water media and is painted in watercolor. Again there is a lot of reflective and pearlescent pigment and the final coat of resin magnifies this radiant effect. This original is framed in a mahogany brown frame.
